Kai Hsiao received her Bachelor of Arts degree in history and Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2005 from the University of California, San Diego. In 2008, she received her Juris Doctorate from from Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law and was a Merit Scholar.
Ms. Hsiao began her legal career in class action, employment litigation, business litigation, and entertainment law litigation. She was involved highly complex, multi-million dollar lawsuits involving Fox Studios, James Cameron, Bank of America, Countrywide, Wells Fargo, Express, Starbucks, Coffee Bean, and GameStop.
Ms. Hsiao began her workers’ compensation career in 2012 at a hybrid defense and applicant’s firm. Thereafter, she exclusively focused her career on the defense of workers’ compensation matters and has experience in litigating issues involving independent contractors, general and special employers, coverage, serious and willful misconduct, Labor Code 132 (a) discrimination claims, and life pension.
Before joining Altman, Blitstein & Wayne, she represented a wide range of clients including manufacturing companies, government entities, staffing agencies, restaurant chains, and small businesses.
Ms. Hsiao has utilized to her considerable litigation experience and educational background to develop discovery and litigation strategies to minimize exposure and encourage early resolution of claims.
