Lisa Porambo received her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1997 from Mount Saint Mary’s college, graduating Cum Laude. While at Mount Saint Mary’s college Ms. Porambo served as an officer of her college’s Phi Alpha Delta fraternity, the largest co-ed professional law fraternity in the United States.
Ms. Porambo attended Southwestern Law School where she continued her involvement in Phi Alpha Delta and graduated in 2000. She is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Central and Northern Districts of California.
Ms. Porambo has focused her legal career on the defense of insureds, employers, uninsured and self-insured employers. She began her legal career practicing as private counsel for a boutique defense workers’ compensation firm before joining a large national law firm. She subsequently served as in-house counsel for one of the largest property and casualty insurers in the United States with offices both nationally and internationally before joining Altman, Blitstein & Wayne.
Ms. Porambo specializes in the defense of all aspects of workers’ compensation actions in California from the discovery phase through trial and appeals. She also provides representation for employers in matters involving discrimination under Labor Code Section 132a and Serious and Willful misconduct. She has counseled employers, lectured insurance and adjusting personnel on various aspects of workers’ compensation laws with the goal of achieving cost-containment for both the insured and the employer.
